This one is for all the amateur photographers out there.

National Geographic is hosting the Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. You will need to register for an account on the site and the rules are very simple. You may submit only one photo per theme for a total of six pictures. The themes are: animals/wildlife, nature, people/cultures, travel, weather, inspiration/keep going. And you must submit your photos by June 30, 2009.

Photos will be judge on:
■Extent to which photo captures the essence of Theme selected (25%);
■Impact and Creativity (50%); and
■Composition, clarity and technical quality (25%)

One winner will be selected from all six themes and the grand prize is a trip for two to the Galapagos Islands and the winning picture will also be featured in their magazine. They are also offering several finalist prizes as well.
