This recipe is a staple in our house. I make it every holiday and any time we have a nice dinner on Sundays after church.


1 cup sour cream, low fat or no fat is fine

2 cups of whip cream, low fat or no fat is fine

1 20 oz can of pineapple chunks, drained

2 small cans of mandarin oranges, drained

2 cups of shredded coconut

2 cups of mini-marshmallows

1 jar of maraschino cherries chopped and drained (will make your base mixture pink)

Mix all together and chill.

You can add pretty much any fruit to an ambrosia. You can also add a box of jello to flavor and color the cream mixture. Tobey's family makes a similar recipe by adding a container of cottage cheese and jello.
